NEWS R.I.P.

Was walking the dogs (Doc and Herbie) on Kneeland Street when I saw this sign in the window. NEWS is closed -- at least until May. The sign also states: New Management/New Ownership. I do not have any official word on this. If it is under new ownership, I expect that someone will be appearing before the LDNA for purposes of seeking neighborhood support for license transfer. Will keep you posted. Sad to see NEWS go. While there may have been issues from time to time, NEWS graciously hosted LDNA meetings and LDNA mixers and Jamie Giorgio was very active in the LDNA. Times are tough. Please remember your neighborhood businesses when spending discretionary funds.
