Movies in the LD -- The City Responds

To: Christopher Betke & Members of the LDNA
In response to the recent emails we have received in relation to film permitting in the city of Boston; and, in particular, the Leather District, please be advised of the following:
The city of Boston permitting process takes into consideration public safety and traffic implications as well as other community impacts such as noise and hours of filming. The City reserves the right to deny or revoke a permit based on any violations of the above.
Any additional mitigation measures between impacted individuals and film production companies are treated as private negotiations and must be done without any involvement, oversight or intervention from the city of Boston.
The City has responded to each specific constituent complaint as they arise and we will continue to do so. If you have complaints, please call either the Mayor’s Hotline at (617) 635-4500 or during film shoots, call Patte Papa at (617) 828-2509 or email her at particia.papa@cityofboston.gov. She is usually on-site or at City Hall during filming. You can also call the Leather District Neighborhood coordinator, Denny Ching, at (617) 635-3891 or email him at denny.ching@cityofboston.gov.
The Mayor’s Office is committed to providing quality constituent services to all of our neighborhoods and we appreciate the time you took to voice your concerns. Thank you.
