West Street

Please be advised that Suffolk University will have a crane erected on West Street this Saturday (5/22) from 5 a.m.-2 p.m., as part of its repairs to the roof at 10 West Street. The work will require portions of West Street to be closed to vehicle traffic. West Street will remain open to pedestrians, with notices placed on either end of the street advising that the street, including its shops and restaurants, is still open to walkers. Police officers will be on-hand to help redirect traffic, assist with pedestrians, and ensure that businesses receive their deliveries smoothly. At this point, similar construction is anticipated to occur on the following dates:
May 29th
June 5th, 19th, & 26th
July 31st

KPMG celebrates 100 with move to Two Financial

KPMG is celebrating in style as it prepares for a May 10 move-in date at Two Financial Center, where the tax, audit and advisory firm will occupy the second through sixth floors of the building and has a five-year option to lease all floors.
Make no mistake, Two Financial, which is 12 stories and a stone’s throw from South Station, is all about KPMG.
After 15 years, the company is leaving 99 High St., waving goodbye to its upper-floors’ water views and a lease that expires June 1. But that brings us to the sweet deal KPMG got right down the street. Who could refuse?
KPMG began negotiating the terms a year ago, taking the 96,000 square feet at KPMG’s big move puts a fine point on more than simply its anniversary in Boston.

Hiring is looking better, Canning said, and the firm’s goal is to go “vertical” in the building as soon as possible and exercise its option on floors seven through nine.

A Tribute to Mothers

Mark your calendar now for A Tribute to Mothers, a special free Mother's Day event on Saturday, May 8. Produced by the Conservancy, the event features a performance by the Boston Ballet Orchestra with conductor Jonathan McPhee. Other highlights include pampering for mothers and activities for children. A signature Greenway event, this day of free performances is the Conservancy's homage to mothers and caregivers in recognition of their tireless contributions. The event will take place in the Wharf District Parks (near the Rings Fountain) from 11AM to 3PM.
